Brionna Jones accounted for 12 points (3-of-10 FGs, 6-of-8 FTs), seven rebounds, two assists and two steals in Tuesday’s loss to the Wings.

Jones shot just 30 percent from the field on Tuesday, but a solid night at the foul line boosted her point total. The Dream forward has scored in double figures in four straight and six of her last seven outings, with Atlanta’s June 15 win over the Mystics being the exception. Fellow frontcourt starter Brittney Griner had another difficult night, playing 17 minutes and finishing with two points, six rebounds and one blocked shot. While Jones has not played fewer than 22 minutes in any game this season, Griner has logged fewer than 20 on five occasions.
Allisha Gray

Allisha Gray shot 3-of-16 from the field and 5-of-6 from the foul line in Tuesday’s loss to the Wings, scoring 13 points with three rebounds, two assists and two three-pointers.

While Gray extended her streak of double-digit scoring efforts to 15 on Tuesday, she had her worst performance of the season. The loss was the first game this season in which the veteran guard shot less than 31 percent from the field, with Gray shooting 1-of-7 from two and 2-of-9 from beyond the arc. The good news for fantasy managers who have her rostered is that nights like Tuesday have not been the norm for Gray. It would be unsurprising if she bounced back with an excellent effort when the Dream hosts Minnesota on Friday.
Rhyne Howard

Rhyne Howard tallied 23 points (6-of-17 FGs, 6-of-9 FTs), eight rebounds, three steals, one block and five three-pointers in Tuesday’s loss to the Wings.

While Howard had a difficult night shooting the basketball, she was one of Atlanta’s best performers. The Dream shot a season-low 23.4 percent from the field and 7-of-34 from three, with Howard responsible for five of the makes. For the second time this season, she’s scored 20 points or more in consecutive games, and Rhyne finished Tuesday’s defeat an assist shy of a complete stat line. Outside of fantasy leagues in which field goal percentage is a scoring category, this was a good night to have Howard rostered. She and the Dream will look to bounce back when they host the Lynx on Friday.
Naz Hillmon

Naz Hillmon produced 12 points (3-of-6 FGs, 4-of-6 FTs), six rebounds, four assists, one steal and two three-pointers in Sunday’s win over the Sky.

While Hillmon still has not reached the point where she’d be considered a must-roster player in standard fantasy leagues, she’s become a fixture in the Dream rotation. After playing five minutes or less in each of Atlanta’s first four games this season, the fourth-year forward has played at least 18 minutes in 10 straight. Sunday’s effort was the fifth in which Hillmon reached double figures in scoring, and she also dropped a complete stat line. The emergence of Hillmon and Te-Hina Paopao recently is one reason why the Dream boasts an 11-4 record, which is good for third (tied with Phoenix) in the WNBA standings.
Brionna Jones

Brionna Jones recorded 13 points (5-of-13 FGs, 3-of-4 FTs), 11 rebounds, one assist, one steal and two blocks in Sunday’s win over the Sky.

Based on her production through Atlanta’s first 15 games of the season, Chicago and Indiana have proven to be good matchups for Jones. Those two teams have been on the wrong end of five of the veteran forward’s seven double-doubles, with Sunday’s being Jones’s second against the Sky. She finished the victory with a complete stat line and, based on the production, has made a smoother transition to Karl Smesko’s offensive system than fellow starter Brittney Griner. BG played 18 minutes on Sunday, finishing with three points, four rebounds, one assist and one blocked shot. Jones has been the better player to have rostered in fantasy leagues thus far, which is a surprise based on preseason ADP.
Te-Hina Paopao

Te-Hina Paopao shot 5-of-7 from the field and 1-of-2 from the foul line in Sunday’s win over the Sky, tallying 16 points, two rebounds, three assists, one block and five three-pointers.

Jordin Canada’s return from the knee injury she suffered during the preseason had cut into Paopao’s playing time. However, Paopao has managed to earn consistent minutes recently. The rookie guard has scored 16 points in three of her last four appearances. And after playing between 15 and 17 minutes in the three games before Sunday, Paopao played 21 against the Sky. Canada played the other 19, finishing with six points, two rebounds, three assists and one steal. While Canada’s leadership at the point is invaluable, Paopao’s perimeter shooting ability gives Atlanta a different dimension at the position.
Allisha Gray

Allisha Gray accounted for 19 points (5-of-12 FGs, 4-of-4 FTs), five rebounds, four assists, two steals, one block and five three-pointers in Sunday’s win over the Sky.

Gray was one of three Dream players to make at least four three-pointers in Sunday’s victory, with Te-Hina Paopao (five) and Rhyne Howard (four) being the others. The veteran guard has been highly consistent thus far, scoring at least 15 points in all but three of Atlanta’s 15 games. Add in Gray’s ability to provide production across the entire stat line, and she stands out as one of the best guards to have rostered in fantasy leagues. Next up for Gray and the Dream is a matchup with the Wings on Tuesday, and she dropped 27 points on them in a May 24 Atlanta victory.
Rhyne Howard

Rhyne Howard amassed 22 points (7-of-17 FGs, 4-of-5 FTs), three rebounds, three assists, two steals, one block and four three-pointers in Sunday’s win over the Sky.

Limited to 13 points in Friday’s win over the Mystics, Howard was more effective as a scorer in Atlanta’s final game of the week. She’s scored at least 20 points in five games this season, and Sunday’s performance was a step in the right direction after Howard endured a three-game slump. In Atlanta’s previous three outings, the 6-foot-2 guard shot a combined 11-of-39 from the field. While Howard came up big in crunch time on Friday, she was more impactful from the start against the Sky, shooting 3-of-5 from the field in the first quarter. Under first-year head coach Karl Smesko, the Dream have been a positive surprise thus far, with the entire rotation playing with offensive freedom.
Brittney Griner

Brittney Griner (illness) finished with 10 points (3-of-6 FGs, 4-of-4 FTs), seven rebounds, one assist, and one block over 27 minutes in Friday’s 92-91 win over the Mystics.

Griner was questionable to play on Friday night due to an illness, but ended up playing anyway. She got on the boards leading the Dream with seven on an evening when crashing the glass was tough for the Dream to come by, as they got out-rebounded by the Mystics 33-24. Griner also hit double-digit scoring for the fifth time this season in 11 games. The 11-year veteran is still trying to figure out how to pick her spots on a team where the top options are the Dream’s perimeter players in Allisha Gray and Rhyne Howard. She is also figuring out sharing minutes at the center spot with Brionna Jones when head coach Karl Smesko opts to play with a smaller player at the power forward spot.
Brionna Jones

Brionna Jones played efficiently in Friday night’s 92-91 win over the Mystics, tallying 14 points (4-of-6 FGs, 5-of-6 FTs), four rebounds, six assists, one steal, and one three-pointers in 21 minutes of play.

Dream head coach Karl Smesko has remarked all season long how instinctual, smart and selfless his front court players are. Jones’ performance on Friday night is a case in point. She made quick decisions on kick outs and dump downs that resulted in six total assists in addition to working with Allisha Gray in the two-person game in the second half to successfully to get her going. This season Jones is averaging 2.3 assists per game, her highest average since 2023.
