Moore had quite the night at home against the Red Sox. With the Angels down 1-0 in the eighth inning, he took Greg Weissert deep for a game-tying solo homer. Down by one again in the bottom of the tenth, he went yard again for a walk-off, two-run blast off Justin Wilson. The 22-year-old second baseman certainly has excellent power upside if he can overcome some swing-and-miss issues.

The well-traveled 30-year-old finally produced the game’s first run as he crushed a full-count offering from Ranger Suárez for a 390-foot (103.5 mph EV) solo shot in the eighth inning that proved to be the difference in the ballgame. Hummel also singled in the ballgame, accounting for two of the Astros’ five total hits. With his 2-for-3 night, he’s now hitting .222/.364/.556 with a pair of homers and three RBI in his limited big league action this season.

Suarez was called on in the top of the ninth to close out the game against the Nationals with a one-run lead. He tossed a clean frame, striking out James Wood to end the game with his 22nd save of the season.

Winn tagged Cubs’ right-hander Jameson Taillon for a 383-foot (97.2 mph EV) two-run shot in the third inning that pulled the Cardinals to within a run at 5-4. He then smacked a go-ahead two-run double the following inning that put the Cardinals ahead to stay. With his two-hit attack, the 23-year-old shortstop is now hitting .256/.324/.391 with seven homers, 29 RBI and four stolen bases on the season.

Ohtani collected his 27th homer of the season on Tuesday, taking Ryan Rolison deep for a two-run shot in the sixth inning. The 30-year-old two-way star is slashing .289/.387/.627 with 77 runs scored, 51 RBI, and 11 steals to go with his 27 homers over 364 plate appearances.

The superstar left-hander racked up eight strikeouts on the evening while allowing just one base on balls. That lone walk came to Jacob Wilson, the first hitter of the ballgame, who then rode home on a two-run blast by Brent Rooker before an out had been recorded. Skubal also served up a two-run homer to Denzel Clarke in the second inning before settling in and blanking the A’s for his final four innings. Skubal got 11 swings and misses on 97 pitches on the night — eight of them on his changeup — while posting a CSW of 27 percent. Now 9-2 on the season, Skubal hasn’t suffered a defeat since his second start of the season. He’ll carry a pristine 2.29 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and a 125/13 K/BB ratio (102 innings) into Sunday’s tilt against the Twins.

Burns struck out five of the first six batters tonight and faced just one over the minimum through three innings before giving up a leadoff homer to Ben Rice in the fourth. He later surrendered a two-run triple to Anthony Volpe, though it really should have been a single; Rece Hinds dove for a ball in right field that he had no chance of catching. Burns went without issuing a walk tonight. He got 12 whiffs: six on 48 fastballs and six on 24 sliders. His heated topped out at 100.1 mph and averaged 98.1 mph, which is right where he was at in Triple-A, too. All in all, it was a pretty impressive showing. He’ll make his next start in Fenway next week, probably in a matchup with Garrett Crochet.

Haggerty stole second and third after walking as a pinch-hitter in the eighth. The go-ahead run came on Haggerty’s chopper to second base. Gary Sánchez caught the relay in plenty of time and held on to the ball for once. He got the out call initially, but replay showed that Evan Carter clearly scored ahead of the tag. Haggerty then stole second before the inning ended. He’s a career 41-for-46 stealing bases in essentially one full year’s worth of plate appearances (587). Unfortunately, that one full year of plate appearances has come spread out over seven major league seasons.

Latz was in the pen 10 days ago before suddenly being extended to throw 5 2/3 innings of one-run ball as a bulk guy last time out against the Royals. He started tonight and got through six hitless with two walks before giving up a single to Ramón Laureano and a walk to open the seventh. He was lifted then in favor of Chris Martin, who proceeded to give up homers to three consecutive batters to blow a 4-0 lead. Latz finished with four strikeouts and 11 whiffs. Although he allowed seven hard-hit balls, five of them in excess of 103 mph, it was a 74-mph grounder up the middle that ended the no-hitter. We wouldn’t recommend picking up Latz, but this has been quite an impressive run. He’s not necessarily due to make another start with Nathan Eovaldi coming back, but the Rangers could certainly make room for him if they wanted to.

The 31-year-old slugger got the Diamondbacks on the board first as he clobbered a 3-0 fastball for a 401-foot (106.7 mph EV) solo shot. Marte also singled in the fourth inning but wound up stranded at first base. With his two-hit attack, he’s now slashing a robust .320/.424/.608 with a 15 homer, 32 RBI and a pair of stolen bases.
